The eRoomSystem has the potential to be expanded to dispatch housekeeping in the most efficient manner while prioritizing which rooms need to be cleaned. The way eRoomHousekeeping would work is as housekeepers enter a room, they would enter in their personal codes on the eRoomSystem touchpad. eRoomHousekeeping then would proceed to time how long it takes housekeeping to prepare the room. When completed, the houskeeper enters his or her code again. The system informs the housekeeper which room needs to be cleaned next. If occupancy is high, eRoomHousekeeping could direct housekeeping personnel to an unoccupied room that is scheduled to check-out. If occupancy is low and additional clean rooms are currently available, eRoomHousekeeping could direct housekeepers to stay-overs that are out of their room. This process optimizes housekeeping operations, minimizes guest disturbances and in turn saves both time and money.
